Are the Dems worried?

by Mike on July 28, 2010

I see in today’s headlines the Democrats are looking to light up a new smear campaign today. Apparently they are more worried about the upcoming November elections than we might have imagined.

LaughingTheir new plan of attack is to try linking the GOP with the Tea Party Patriots movement sweeping across this country. Apparently they feel this new ‘major initiative’ will help them in their attempts to indicate Republicans are somehow ‘outside the political mainstream’.

An unnamed Democratic National Party source has allegedly said, “The Tea Party is now the most potent force in Republican politics and with the recent launch of the Tea Party Caucus on Capitol Hill garnering the support of Republican leaders like NRCC Chair Pete Sessions and Republican Caucus Chair Mike Pence – the Tea Party is now an institutionalized part of the Republican party.”

It seems clear to me the White House and the DNC are running scared.

Those of us supporting and backing the Tea Party are not necessarily Republicans. Nor are Republicans necessarily supportive of the Tea Party. Anyone with access to political news is completely aware there are many RINOs (Republican In Name Only) who have been elected to office, but have either forgotten or have been paid to conveniently overlook conservative GOP values.

The Tea Party calls for a fiscally responsible federal government, a Constitutionally limited federal government and a return to free market principles. Do we really need to start pointing out to the DNC those are points commonly overlooked by many Republican office-holders?

And my question to the DNC in general and the White House in particular is this -

Why are Dems so concerned about the Tea Party Patriots? Do Dems not support the principles listed above? I should think all American Patriots would step forward to embrace and uphold these ideals, in order to once again unite America under the patriotic core values expressed by our Founding Fathers in the Declaration of independence and the United States Constitution.

Instead we have the President of the United States allegedly calling Tea Party supporters by the sexually derogatory term of ‘tea-baggers’? Mr. Obama, perhaps it is time for you to review American history, rather than Kenyan history, to be reminded of a time when American people were left with no other option than to revolt against the political class.

For those as confused as Obama and his socialist cronies, the Tea Party Patriots Inc. clearly defines itself as a ‘non-partisan grassroots organization of individuals’. And I was always taught the phrase ‘non-partisan’ was defined as being free from party affiliations, party bias and party designation.

But I am also confident the Dems will not recognize this finer point and will move forward with their ill-considered ‘major initiative’.
