The library is open

Before I forget, I want to wish all of my visitors and guests from the U.S. a very Happy Independence Day weekend.  I hope you’re one of the lucky ones getting an extended weekend.  Be safe!

I question my own sanity a lot and this is one of those times.  I have enough things going on to keep me busy and off the streets as it is, but I’ve still purchased a new book.  When in the world am I going to find time to sit down and read?  Well, I think I need to just make time, as this book is one I’ve been wanting to read since its release.

ManChurian PresidentI bought a copy of Aaron Klein’s Manchurian President.  I figure this one is a must-read, because it seems the government-controlled media has nothing good to say about it.  (Someday, the media will realize we’re onto their liberal-left tactics.)  All my life, I’ve watched the media sling mud at Republicans and Libertarians and they’ve been letting our current President slide.  An excellent example of how the media works for the government machine is how the Dr. Ron Paul was almost completely ignored in the 2008 campaign.  Dr. Paul was talking sense and the talking heads were not going to allow patriotic Americans to hear any of it.

Fortunately, we still have publishing houses that do not bow to poor politics.

The book arrived in yesterday’s mail and I’m yet to crack it open.  But I am one of the lucky people getting a three-day weekend, so I hope to get a chance to read some of it over the next two or three days.  I’m anxious to see if there I can uncover any new information.

Townhall Conservative MagazineI’ve also broken down and subscribed to Townhall Magazine.  Since it is impossible to find much print media coming from a conservative perspective, I decided it was time to subscribe.  At the moment, Townhall is available at a very attractive rate, just $34.95 for a one-year subscription.  But the sweet part of the deal is the ability to select a free book as you subscribe.  (Oh no, another book to be read?!?)

Well, I hope to find some spare time in the next few days, because I am going to have more than my share of reading to get done.
